Charity Foundation “Victoria” (Poltava, Ukraine) has started the implementation of the idea to teach young people designing and piloting the drones. These kinds of skills are useful today and not only in the military area but also in industry, agriculture, services, and many other areas. In order to implement this idea the foundation plans to open “Victoria drone school”.

The goal of the project is to involve young people in the promising direction of technological progress. To create a reserve of professionals not only for AFU (as operators and designers of drones) but also for civil areas. The target audience is young people of age 12-20. The project will start its work in Poltava but eventually might be scaled on the entire Ukraine.

“Victoria drone school” course provides

  • Education in designing and construction of drones
  • Design and development of an educational course for drone pilots
  • Create a science lab on top of the school to develop the researches in the drones area

Victoria Foundation has already developed educational materials and has planned trial lessons with the focus-groups. This should help to identify all the requirements for the full-scale implementation of the future project “Victoria drone school”. The introduction education module consists of:

  • a lecture about drones and how they work
  • the basics of controlling the multi-copter using the simulator app
  • teaching to pilot the real drone.

We are in big need of technical equipment to implement the project. To educate properly we would require:

  • computers
  • remote controls for learning with the simulator app
  • training drones (quadrocopters) and additional batteries for them
  • also VR glasses.
