The history of mankind proves that wars are always won owing to innovative and high-tech weapons.
War conflicts of the last decade demonstrated that no single army in the world couldn’t succeed without using drones. It became obvious that drones are an important and crucial type of weaponry even in the first days of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine. With fewer investments and no risk to the pilots, drones are capable to accomplish almost all tasks that aviation can perform. Also, the training of aviation pilots is time- and money-consuming work.
Right from the beginning of the warfare, AFU has had a huge shortfall of drones of all kinds. Starting from the microdrones and ending with big combat strike complexes. That’s why government structures and volunteers had started to look for any opportunity to purchase drones abroad and founding the manufacturers of drones in the country.
A lot of design bureaus have been founded in Ukraine. They have studied the needs of the AFU and designed a bunch of modern, simple yet cheap drones. Drones are capable to perform different tasks from intelligence to combat ones. Such drones can be manufactured relatively quickly and in large quantities in order to fulfill the need for AFU in drones. However, funding is crucial for the improvement of manufacturing.
To make it happen Victoria Foundation has opened a fundraising program. The goal of the charity program “Wings for AFU” is the provision of funding:
- design, manufacture, and trial the drones
- support the development of scientific research and creation of the laboratories
- design and develop the educational program for the drone pilots
